PPS and its Boundary Review Advisory Committee (DBRAC) are reviewing school boundaries to alleviate overcrowding at some schools. Rieke is very likely to see some change to its boundaries as early as Fall 2016, and it's possible current students will not be grandfathered in.
What can you do about it? Lots!
Portland Public Schools and the District-wide Boundary Review Advisory Committee are considering boundary changes for a number of west side schools to address overcrowding at several schools. School boundaries determine where children attend school.
The advisory committee, using its values framework and feedback from school communities, is now considering additional possibilities for balancing enrollment across schools on the west side.

Rieke families, we need you! Tuesday night, SW Portland families will convene at Wilson High School at 6 PM to share their stories with PPS and DBRAC, the volunteer committee that has been working to solve overcrowding issues in SW Portland schools.

Show PPS how committed Rieke families are Come one, come all to the PPS District-Wide Boundary Review (DBRAC) meeting that may shape the future of Rieke and other SW schools.
The PPS Boundary Review Advisory Committee (PBRAC) just put forth a proposal that sends our neighborhood kids to Hayhurst instead of Rieke. They amended their original proposals after significant push back from other schools. They had months to organize an effective response, but we have only 10 days before they are done with the review process.
The January 19 PPS West Side Boundary Proposal Community Meeting at Wilson High School drew a crowd and provided some good feedback to the DBRAC regarding the proposed attendance boundary changes.
