Change in leadership

Dear Rieke Families,

As you may have heard, our PTA co-presidents, Kelli Walker and Huntley Morrison, have recently resigned for personal reasons. We greatly appreciate the hard work, focus and enthusiasm with which they stepped into their roles before last year even ended. We're fortunate they will continue to be active volunteers in the Rieke Community.

In the meantime, the PTA is looking for a new Board president! Candidates will be voted on at the Dec. 3 Community Dinner and PTA meeting. We hope everyone will attend the meeting, but remember, you must be a PTA member to vote on Board positions. If you are interested in this position, or in joining the Board in another capacity, please reach out to any current board member or contact us through this website. Until Dec. 3, Nate Wood, current PTA secretary, will act as interim president, per PTA bylaws.

The PTA is a lively, dedicated group of parent volunteers, with diverse backgrounds and talents, who are committed to our school, to our kids' education and experience at Rieke, and to the general well-being of the Rieke community. The Board meets monthly, and the new president will have a lot of folks to help him or her get settled in the role. Everyone has a role and we have needs that can fit everyone’s abilities, schedules and ideas about what is fun. Please consider joining us!

One of the best ways to know what is happening at school is to join our email list so that you receive our weekly newsletter, along with occasional announcements about upcoming events. Additionally, there are four Community Dinners scheduled for the year. These are popular events where we provide dinner and childcare. You don’t have to be a PTA member to attend. We hold our General Membership meetings during these Community Dinners, allowing everyone to have a voice in the direction of our PTA. Please read about membership and join right now.

Thank you,
The Rieke PTA Board
