The selection of a new principal is a significant decision and Superintendent Carole Smith wants to hear from the Rieke community, parents, teachers and staff. Please plan on attending the meeting to discuss this issue on Tuesday, April 26, 6:30-8 p.m.at Rieke.
If you can’t make the meeting please fill out the online survey and read about the principal hiring process.
Free childcare will be provided for the meeting in the library.
Please RSVP so we can arrange for the right number of childcare providers.

The community meeting is one of the first steps taken in our principal hiring process. Superintendent Carole Smith, John Blanck from Human Resources and I, will come to Rieke and meet with teachers and parents together. We want to hear about the type of person you would like to have as your next educational leader, which is important in the selection of your next Principal.
At the meeting we will also take time to explain the full hiring process. We will explain two main possibilities: a) how the Community Meeting information may be used with the Senior Director to place a current PPS Principal, because of a great match between the school and that Principal, or b) if a match is not selected by the Senior Directors, Principal applicants will go through a rigorous assessment process and be chosen from that group.Your input is important; as is detailed in the Administrative Directive, we will use your input as an important way to find the best fit for Rieke.
