Principal's Message, October 8th

Dear Rieke Families,

I’m so sorry I missed the Run for Rieke, but heard it went well. Who knew we would be having a heat wave during the run (and hard to believe how much it’s changed just a week later!). Keep the pledges coming in. Every student who returns his or her pledge sheet (even if they didn’t collect any money) will receive a small prize. Checks should be made out to All Hands Raised. We then access those funds to use to support staffing at Rieke. Funds from last year are helping provide our technology instructor Jani Colasurdo this year.

As teachers are getting their classroom volunteers schedules in place I want to remind everyone of the high importance of keeping information confidential. We love having parents and other volunteers here helping, it makes a tremendous difference. But it is essential that information you learn about while volunteering is kept entirely confidential. That provides privacy for all of our students and keeps the integrity of our program. If you’re not sure how you could help but are interested please reach out to either your child’s teacher or Zac and Lynda in the office.

Picture retake day will be October 30th. If you prefer not to keep the first photo, bring it on the 30th to get a 2nd picture taken.

There is no school this Friday, the 12th. This is part of the statewide inservice day. Our Book Fair will run through this Thursday. It will be open every morning this week at 8:30 and after school until 5 pm, except until 6:30 pm on Tuesday. Scholastic donates a portion of the profits back to Rieke both in the form of books and in credit.

Have a great week!
